The new Trek Madone series still features the same proven ProTour geometry that delivers the predictable, confidence-inspiring handling that Lance rode to seven TDF victories. Due to their OCLV Carbon and proven geometry, Trek has created an optimal balance of lateral stiffness and vertical compliance. The proprieatary OCLV carbon fiber ultilizes the inherent vibration damping qualities of traditional OCLV to deliver just the right amount of road feedback to keep you in-tune with the road.
The Trek Madone 5.5 uses the OCLV Black lay-up schedule. The tubing is put together using Trek's Tapered Joint Technology which uses precisely-feathered joints to minimize carbon overlap, reducing frame weight without sacrificing strength. Furthermore, OCLV Net Molding technology is used in creating the Precision Fit Sockets technology which saves 80 grams without comprimising bearing performance or durability. The Front fork uses a new E2 steerer design which increases stability at high speeds and reduces weight
The most unique feature of the Trek Madone is the all carbon, no cut integrated seatmast that saves weight compared to traditional designs but still offers multiple offset options. You can raise the post 100mm on the fly, six degrees laterally, and you could virtually tilt the saddle any amount. The Trek Madone 5.5 has a 30mm taller headtube compared to Pro fit models.
